Ventilated Façade Cinza Douro

A Ventilated Façade can be defined as an external covering and protection method for buildings, consisting of a cavity between the structural wall of the building and its cladding. The adjective used is "ventilated" because this cavity allows a natural and continuous ventilation of the building wall, similar to the chimney effect (the cold air goes inside from the bottom and it leaves hot from the top).
Therefore, with the "air-circulation" of the wall, the common humidity and typical condensation of traditional facades are avoided and, consequently, a higher insulation comfort is achieved.
The Ventilated Façade has further advantages such as easy brick-laying and the possibility of installing the electrical and plumbing system in the space between the wall of the building and its cladding.
